Tiny Tina's Wonderlands will have crossplay at launch, including PlayStation
Tiny Tina Wonderlands, a new spinoff in the popular Borderlands series, is set to launch on March 25 on PlayStation, Xbox and PC, and when it becomes available, it will support crossplay for all platforms, including PlayStation 4.
Sony has been famously resistant to crossplay, basically blocking support for it in some popular multiplayer games like Fortnite and Rocket League. While the company eventually enabled it for those two games, Borderlands 3's crossplay update that launched in June 2021 did not include support for PlayStation.
However, when Gearbox CEO and president Randy Pitchford revealed the crossplay support of Tiny Tina's Wonderlands in a tweet on Sunday (via Kotaku), he said PlayStation crossplay would be enabled and that Sony specifically needed to "make it easier". need to see". Co-op is a key feature of multiplayer games, so having support for Sony's platform should mean more people can play simultaneously.
And in a Twitter reply, Pitchford indicated that he hopes crossplay will also come to Borderlands 3 at some point. "BL3 has supported crossplay for a while [sic]," he said. “PlayStation’s future addition to crossplay for BL3 is now what I would consider inevitable. As we have more information…” Sony did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
