Are you having trouble in getting your business site to rank in the search engines??? And you are not even sure from where to start? Well!!! This post will provide you with almost 15 very simple hacks to ensure that your site is properly optimized and starts ranking asap. These hacks have really helped me to go from a startup to having lakhs of online visitors to my site each month in less than a year or two.
Lets Start:
1. Always Make sure you're not using 302 redirects, Instead use 301 redirects:
Using, 301 redirects indicates that your website content has been permanently removed from www, and that all SEO "juice" and rankings definitely should be redistributed to the new page.
2. Write a long-form content:
There is in a correlation between longer content and high rankings. Think about some topics that are actually relevant to your target audience, then create in-detail blog posts that cover every aspect of that subject. Several studies have already been done on how long your content should be to rank on google. All you have so how that rank in the top 10 pages of Google, you should have at least 1000+ words on the page.
3. Upload a sitemap for Google:
Very Important for indexing !!! An XML sitemap shows Google exactly what's there on your site. You can very easily create and upload one to your site using XML Sitemap Generator (Free tool from google).

4. Don't unknowingly block Google from accessing your site:
Guys, If you are not receiving any kind of search traffic, check the section of your web site and look for something like this:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /
Also look through your robots.txt file for something like this:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /
5. Optimize for mobile:

7. Descriptive URL's:
Friends, Your website URLs should always be static ones and should use descriptive keywords, Please don't use just random letters or numbers.
8. Always use a .com domain if possible:
Scholars at Searchmetrics have concluded 80% of top-ranking pages use .com as their top-level domain (TLD). Do not worry too much about using keywords in your domain name, However, using your URL for branding purposes is much more important.
9. Always Keep your most important content on your root domain:
Most top-ranking pages sit on a site's root domain, rather than on a subdomain.
10. Use internal linking to refer search engines to related products or content:
Don't worry much about artificially incorporating keyword rich anchor text to rank just for specific keywords. Instead, you should focus on using natural anchor text that would make most sense to your readers.
11. Title tags will still matter:
Always, Ensure that each page of your site uses a unique and descriptive title tag to tell your users and the search engines like google what the page is about. Refer the HTML Improvements report in your Google Webmaster account.
12. Schema.org to show rich snippets in search results:
By adding this markup tag to your site, you will give Google a better sense of what actually your site is about, and also make sure rich snippets are displayed alongside your site in the search results.
