Twitter is rolling out to all users without any mention
Twitter is rolling out its "Unmanaging" feature to a wider range of users, allowing you to remove yourself from conversations that involve your Twitter handle. The platform first introduced the feature to a small group of users in April, but is now available to all.
If you're stuck in a toxic conversation or don't want to receive notifications for a thread you're a part of, you may want to use this feature yourself. Fast untags your username, stops notifications for threads, and prevents anyone in the thread from tagging you again.
I had to try this feature for myself after updating the app. To "unmanage" yourself, select the Tweet you're tagged in and then tap the three dots in the top-right corner of the screen. From here, select Leave this conversation.
Even though Tesla CEO Elon Musk is attempting to back away from his $44 billion deal to acquire Twitter, that isn't stopping the platform from making new changes. It's currently testing a way to co-author a tweet and is also looking at a new long-form notes feature for users tired of the 280-character limit.
