Have you noticed the new aspects of YouTube?
YouTube is introducing rounded edges on the main video player you see on YouTube.com, spokesperson Alison Toh confirmed to The Verge on Tuesday. They're coming to all users, so if you're not seeing them now, you should see them soon.
I asked about them after seeing corners on the web the past few days while browsing youtube. (I included a screenshot of what I saw at the top of this post.) I think the rounded corners look really cool. They also make YouTube's desktop design more holistic as you'll see rounded corners on videos and rounded corners on thumbnails on the side.
Obviously, I only see rounded corners when viewing on a standard-sized video player; In Theater Mode, which stretches the video to the edges of your browser window, the corners are still right angles.
Toh says the change is a continuation of the design update it introduced in October, which includes a more precise way to fast forward or rewind.
