Samsung's 2020 smart TVs are getting cloud gaming apps soon

Samsung says it plans to bring cloud gaming apps to its 2020 smart TVs later this year. Samsung made the announcement today during the Gamescom event, but it's not yet clear which 2020 smart TV models will be updated with cloud gaming apps, nor an exact release date outside of "later this year."

“Today, we are pleased to announce that we will be expanding cloud gaming apps to our 2020 model-year TVs later this year, giving millions of players access to their favorite games and entertainment,” said Mike Lucero, Product Head of Gaming. Will have access to entertainment." Access to Services." on Samsung.

Samsung originally launched its Gaming TV Hub with built-in cloud gaming apps for its 2022 smart TVs and monitors last year, before bringing a separate game streaming app for its 2021 smart TVs in November. Samsung's native gaming hub includes cloud gaming apps like Xbox Cloud Gaming, Nvidia GeForce Now, and Amazon Luna.

While 2020 smart TVs won't get full gaming hubs, Samsung says cloud gaming apps are on the way, even if we don't know the exact apps yet. However, it's fair to assume that popular TVs like Xbox Cloud Gaming and Nvidia GeForce Now will be among the first to arrive among these older smart TVs.
